Honolulu: Home to the State Capitol, Honolulu is the vibrant epicenter of Hawaii. Kihei: Several research facilities are located in Kihei, including the main offices for the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, seed operations by DEKALB Genetics Corporation and Monsanto Company, and the Maui Research and Technology Park, which is home to the Maui High Performance Computing Center and is overseen by the Air Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing observatory .

Lahaina: Lahaina is the largest census-designated place in West Maui, Maui County, Hawaii, and the gateway to the famous Kaanapali and Kapalua beach resorts north of the community. Lahaina encompasses the coast along Hawaii Route 30 from a tunnel at the south end, through Olawalu up the CDP of Napili-Honokowai is to the north. Until permanently moving to Honolulu, Lahaina was the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii. In the 19th century, Lahaina was the center of the global whaling industry with many sailing ships anchored in at its waterfront; today a score of pleasure craft make their home there.

Kapaa: Kapaʻa is community in Kauaʻi County, Hawaiʻi.
