Places to stay in Oxfordshire

Oxford: Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years. Nowadays, the city is a bustling cosmopolitan town. Still with its ancient University, but home also to a growing hi-tech community. Many businesses are located in and around the town, whether on one of the Science and Business Parks or within one of a number of residential areas

Banbury: Banbury is an old market town, which hosts an array of shops, restaurants and pubs. Markets are still held Thursdays and Saturdays. An ideal base for holiday or business stays. Within easy reach of Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Woodstock, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone Race Track, Oxford and the beautiful Cotswolds.

Henley-on-Thames: Henley-on-Thames is a town on the River Thames in South Oxfordshire about 10 miles downstream and north-east from Reading, 10 miles upstream and west from Maidenhead. It is near the corner between the counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Abingdon: Abingdon is a market town in Oxfordshire in Southern England. It is the seat of the Vale of White Horse district. Previously the county town of Berkshire, Abingdon is one of several places that claim to be Britain's oldest continuously occupied town, with people having lived there for at least 6,000 years. It was part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes transferred it to Oxfordshire.

Headington: Headington is a suburb of Oxford. It is at the top of Headington Hill overlooking the city in the Thames Valley below. The life of the large residential area is centred upon London Road, the main road between London and Oxford.
