The Lake of the Woods is large enough to accommodate the sailor who likes to practice this gentle art on vacation. Winds are perfect and sailing is a "breeze". Towering forests, protecting green hillsides, sprinkled with cascading streams and wildflowers are available to the hiker and mountain biker. Discover the wooded trails and winding forest paths that surround Lake of the Woods. Here is a rare opportunity to wander through an everchanging, virgin wilderness that is found in few places. If you appreciate a higher view, there are several mountain climbs that award the hiker and biker an unparalled view. Graceful deer and other woods animals abound in their natural habitats.

You may be delighted by any one or a combination of the following: Cottontales and Jackrabbits, Beavers, muskrats, martens, fishers, raccoons, wildcats, cougars, bears and coyotes! Nearby lies upper Klamath Lake which is a nationally famed feeding spot for ducks and geese heading south. The crown jewel of this setting is Mt. McLoughlin with its almost 10,000 feet of majestic breathtaking beauty. The renown Pacific Crest Trail trailhead is only 20 minutes drive from the Resort and one of America's most cherished National Park treasures, Crater Lake, is only 55 miles away. Ashland, Oregon is just a 37 mile drive down the picturesque Dead Indian Memorial Highway where you might consider staying at our sister property Ashland Springs Hotel and visit the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Also, the Championship Arnold Palmer Golf Course at the Running Y Resort is only a 20 minute drive, and the beautiful Eagle Point Golf Course is less than an hour away. So adventure abounds in and around this beautiful resort nestled in the Southern Oregon Cascades.
